Irving residents are encouraged to take pride in their neighborhoods by adhering to the established code enforcement guidelines. Failure to comply could result in a fine or other action. Violations may be reported to Code Enforcement at (972) 721-4929.

Outside Storage – The homeowner/tenant is responsible for ensuring the property is free from litter, brush and outside storage items such as household furniture/items, trash, building materials, car parts, etc. Such items should be stored within an enclosed building.

Trash Out Too Early – Trash must be properly bagged and placed at pick-up point no sooner than 6 p.m. the day before collection. Call to schedule bulk pick-up before placing bulk trash/brush on the curb.

Garage Sales – Permits are required to conduct garage sales in Irving. In addition, only two garage sales may be conducted at the same address from January-December and each garage sale may not exceed 72 hours in duration.

High Grass and Weeds – Weeds and grass above 10 inches are a violation of city code guidelines. Property owners and tenants are responsible for keeping lawns mowed to the edge of the roadway.

Parking on Grass – Vehicles may not be parked on grass in Irving.
