DFW Orange Line - Construction Activity July 6-13

The following activities will be ongoing for the next two weeks (July 6-13). Utility location verification and geotechnical testing will take place throughout the corridor and may require temporary lane restrictions.

Harry Hines/Jamison/Northwest Highway/Interstate 35 area:
• There will be a lot of activity in this area associated with bridge construction. Trucks and equipment will be moving in and out; please be aware and use caution.

Construction activities will include:
• Drill shaft operations
• Column operations
• Utility relocation
• Walls
• Grading
• Light pole removals

Trinity River area:
• Continue building the access road.

Old Texas Stadium/Loop 12 area:
• Grading operations along with curb and gutter removals. As a reminder, the old stadium is a construction area and is not available to the public.

Spur 482 around Central Freight and Fed Ex:
• Expect grading and drilling operations to continue.

Week of July 6:
Grading and drilling operations will continue along Spur 482 and the Trinity River area.

Lane Restrictions:
• Expect full closures of Interstate 35E from Loop 12 to Harry Hines Boulevard. Southbound Interstate 35E will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 7-8. The detour for southbound Interstate 35E traffic will exit 436 (Loop 12/Spur 348) west; south toward State Highway 114 DFW Airport/Grapevine; east on State Highway 114; northwest on Storey Lane/Spur 482; south on Harry Hines back to southbound Interstate 35E.

• Northbound Interstate 35E will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. July 8-9. The detour for northbound Interstate 35E will exit 435 (Harry Hines); north on Harry Hines to Northwest Highway; on west on Northwest Highway back to northbound Interstate 35E.

• In the event of a weather delay, expect all activities to shift back one day to July 8 and 9.

• The ramp closure scheduled for July 6 (beginning at 9 p.m.) from Northbound Harry Hines to Eastbound Northwest Highway has been tentatively postponed for 1-2 weeks.

Week of July 13:
• Drilling operations will begin around Justice Way.

Lane Restrictions:
• Stemmons Trail at Spur 482 will close July 13 for several weeks. Access to Stemmons Trail from Northwest Highway will remain open.

Coming up for Week of July 20:
• Utility relocates around Justice Way.

• Clearing and grading activities, including tree removal, in the Teleport and North Lake College/Brangus Road areas.
