In late 1980's I traveled on business through Silicon Valley, California and was amazed seeing the well manicured lawns, beautiful and large streets. I bewildered at corporations nameplates whose names I quickly recognized to have participated bringing the world into the Information Age, Oracle, IBM, Intel, SUN, Apple, Amdahl, Tandem to name only a few.

Leap forward to 2004. While on business staying at the Dallas Sheraton one evening I took a ride on Highway 114 West. After passing the Industrial areas and Texas Stadium I surprisingly saw a well organized group of business buildings in an exquisite setting with their adjacent well constructed parking garages well lit in the darkness of the evening splendor. Became intrigued and exited at O’Conner Blvd and drove through the area for awhile.  In all I liked everything I saw including its name “Las Colinas”. I remembered my Silicon Valley experience and saw lots of similarities between the two areas with the exception that surrounding the Las Colinas Urban Center and its business was a lot of available and un-developed land.  My mind caught a glimpse of what Las Colinas could become and what I later understood it’s visionary founder Ben Carpenter's had in mind while developing this community. Thus fell in love with the area, relocated here and stuck my foot into the ground saying "Finally I found my home".

Little did I know that Mr. Carpenter's plans were to be completed soon after I purchased a home in Las Colinas. The Transit Oriented Developments or TOD, are spurring throughout Las Colinas and I cannot be more happier to see the Texan American Western twist of European, New York exciting life styles being developed right here in my newly adoptive community.

I decided to capture and publish more information about these extraordinary times, events and developments in an online website with the motto "Las Colinians Unite" thus created Las Colinas Online community.  Join us, participate, share and spread the word, helping Las Colinas to become one of the greatest Dallas Fort Worth communities.
